I'm sick with a cold, again. This totally sucks! I really enjoy breathing through both nostrils and not just three quarters of one and I really dislike having to blow my nose this often. Boo! I've been drinking copious amounts of decafinated tea, both black tea and green. Lots of honey and lemon. It really does make me feel better! Plus, it'll probably help flush all the toxins out. +1!
At the beginning of the month, Irene made a post about a home made oatmeal and honey face mask. It looked easy enough, I had all the ingredients and because it's moisturizing, I was sold. I decided to make it last night! But with all things, I just had to modify it. I can't follow instructions!
I grabbed a couple handfuls of oats (large flakes, though I doubt it matters) and my Magic Bullet. By the way, I love this little machine. It's just so convenient and it effortlessly grinds anything you put in it into powder! I ground it up with some matcha and sifted it to make sure there were no clumps. I put it in an airtight container and took out what I needed.
At this point, you can add honey or water or even a little lemon juice to make a paste. Slather it all over your face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Wash it off, pat your face dry and continue with your skincare routine.
I love this mask! Not only is it all natural, it's inexpensive, a mild exfoliant, hydrating, soothing and also has a anti-oxidants in it thanks to the addition of green tea powder. If you've got spots, adding a crushed Aspirin would be beneficial too. (see: Aspirin mask) Sensitive skin? I'd do a spot test, just in case. It works awesome for me, so hopefully it'll work for you too!
Right now: oatmeal, green tea, honey and a few drops of fresh lemon juice. Totally unattractive, but my skin is super happy.
