The most exciting thing about going to
John Vince's (my all time favourite bulk place) is the new selection of Callebaut chocolates! What's even better is, the fact that you can buy as much or as little as you want and still pay less than retail. When I saw these little chocolate covered biscuit balls, I couldn't walk away without buying some! They would look super cute on baked goods and they taste yummy too. But at nearly $20 a kilogram...they're probably not something you'll want to casually snack on as hard as it maybe to resist. Now that I think of it, Crispearls would be awesome mixed into homemade ice cream! Or even sprinkled on top...or right into my mouth...
If you haven't been to John Vince Foods, it's like a
Bulk Barn...but like three times bigger with a lot more goodies. I could spend an hour in there easy! There's usually a monthly flyer listing items that will be on sale, so keep an eye out. The only thing they're lacking in comparison to Bulk Barn, is their sprinkle and coloured sugar selection. But if you're in need of baking goods and want to buy in bulk, this is the place! They also stock a crazy amount of chocolate, snack mixes and candy. Oh, and Planter's Peanuts. ;)
P.S. Watch out for the bin containers with no/weak magnets to hold them up. I was bending down, scooping some flax into my bag when the large (and heavy) acrylic lid fell with the edge crashing down on the bridge of my nose! IT REALLY BLOODY HURT! I have a small cut/bruise on it now and nearly shed a tear in the middle of the store. Then I got angry.
