Gorgeous, no? What you're looking at are purple basil and Thai basil, both of which are growing wildly out in my jungle of a garden! The purple basil has been growing and re-seeding itself for years and the Thai basil were propagated from stems from a Pho restaurant near my pop's work. It was actually the lady who works there who suggested doing this and she gave him a bunch of stems (most the leaves were gone, just a couple baby ones remained) to take home. What we did was...stick them in the soil and water. They don't need mush attention; just water a couple times a week and harvest the leaves often to promote more growth (I wish it was like that with money!). So easy and it totally beats paying for it every time you need it. Plus, it's fresh and you basically have an unlimited supply. ;)
Look! I didn't lie when I told you my garden was a mess of a jungle. My tomato plants are out of control and tangled together. I only have about 4 tomato plants cages out of...20? lol. That green giant in the top right hand corner is a raspberry bush I planted last year. It has probably grown 15 times it's size from when I first got it off of a a lady giving them away. Since then it's sent out little baby raspberry plants all around!
