One of the best dinner's I've made this month. You just can't go wrong with a hearty roast beef dinner with super rich beef au jux sauce and yorkshire puddings! I could have eaten all 1,325 of them, but I resisted. There was beef to be had. Super juicy and delicious beef.
A 1.4kg rib roast was perfect for our family of four. Thanks to
this meat cooking calculator, I didn't under or over cook it! Seriously guys, this program is amazing. It'll even plan out when you have to start prepping so that your roast will be done perfectly for carving time! Bookmark it! I did and I'll be using it for Thanksgiving and Christmas, FOR SURE.
There's no recipe for the roast beef or au jus. All I did was splash some Worcestershire sauce on the roast, a light sprinkling of granulated garlic, coarse salt and pepper. Then I followed what the meat cooking calculator told me to do. The au jus consisted of beef consommé, pan drippings and a touch of cornstarch to give it a bit of viscosity. I finished it off with a pat of butter and dinner was served at 7:30pm. Mm!
Yorkshire puddings are the easiest things to make and I have no idea why I didn't make them before. Probably because they sound fancy, but they are down right simple! I used
this recipe and it worked perfectly. Three ingredients- eggs, milk, flour. Try it!
