As part of our "all day" baking extravaganza and after baking our failed vegan lemon squares, Denise and I made two pizzas for dinner. I had made the dough earlier in the day and after a trip to Loblaws, Walmart then back to Loblaws, we both forgot to pick up toppings for the pies. Hah! So off to the grocery store we went, listless and hungry. In the end we decided on one white pizza and one with everything on it. Call it a deluxe or a supreme as Denise has named it. Both were delicious, with a crust that wasn't too thick nor too thin, crispy yet still enough heft to carry all the toppings...and there were, a lot of toppings.
Perfect, crisp and incredibly cheesy! |
Super colourful! |
There were five of us at dinner and we ate the pizzas with a side of salad. A complete meal! It was good. So good that I might have to make pizza again this weekend! My favourite would have to be the white artichoke pizza. It was super creamy and the zippy-ness of the artichokes balanced out all the flavours. The "everything" pizza was a nice contrast and I found it to be quite light in comparison. You really can't go wrong with fresh vegetables. Talk about eating your colours! In the end there were a couple slices left (which was surprising!) and Denise was able to take some home for yummy left overs. :)
