Fishman Lobster Clubhouse Restaurant

Wow, is that restaurant name a mouthful or what?
Never mind that, check out that ginormous Alaskan king crab and how it's just casually being placed in the middle of our dining table! The waitress brought out the live seafood in a container for us to peek at and I guess she noticed the not to subtle Canon in my hand. Moments later she told everyone to take their seats and with her bare hands, she placed a very much still live and dripping wet monster of a crab on the over sized glass lazy Susan.

Awesome!

But that wasn't it. The crab had a friend and it was a jumbo lobster. LOOK AT IT'S CLAWS! Now there's a pretty good way to loose a finger or two, or possibly an entire limb. :)

Our lobster friend had some cool looking barnacles.

While the display was fun and entertaining, we were hungry. So off they went to take their hot bathes in various broths and steamers and hot oils and sauces and aromatic spices and herbs.

First we dined on a whole fish. I'm not sure what kind of fish it was, only that it was fresh, cooked to perfection and delicious. It was actually steeped in a rich broth, which you'll see a photo of two down. We ate it served with a little bit of soy sauce and green onions.

Here's the fish soup. It wasn't "fishy" at all, but rather rich in flavour and umami!

Fish soup with oyster mushrooms and greens.

Next was a steamed chicken, served warm and with a green onion and ginger oil. Simple, tasty and not at all dry!

Then came the lobster. It was divided, seasoned and deep fried into golden yumminess. The presentation is kind of really awesome.

It was topped with fried garlic and little crispy fish.

One of the best dishes of the night and a total head turner!

We also ordered sweet and sour pork. The photo is of just the pork, which was battered and fried. The sauce was served separately to ensure that it remained crispy- perfect! This was some of the best sweet and sour pork we've had, and we've had our fair share.

Served with authentic sweet and sour sauce. So good!

Below is just a part of the king crab, the claws to be exact. It was lightly battered and fried and then tossed in a sweet, salty and garlic-y sauce then garnished with scallions.

Up next, were the giant crab legs! This dish was steamed with ginger and garlic as well as salted duck egg yolk, which gave it a salty richness that really complimented the fresh and sweet meat of the king crab.

Of course among all the seafood dishes, there had to be greens to balance out the meal as well as...

...a delicious serving of carbs! Tucked under the outer shell of the Alaskan king crab was a generous serving of crab fried rice. All the fatty innards of the crab was mixed in, so basically this was some of the best rice ever!

To finish our meal off,  we enjoyed a serving of mixed fruit cake which had layers of fruit and whipped creamed sandwiched between light and fluffy vanilla sponge. The perfect ending to a seafood filled dinner! Happy Birthday Aunt K!
