One of my favourite cakes is a lemon poppy seed cake. I also like lemon poppy seed muffins, pancakes, cookies, you name it- as long as it's got a nice zing to it, I will enjoy it. A couple weeks ago, I made this poppy seed loaf, which I then topped with a deliciously sweet and tangy glaze made with fresh lemon juice and confectioner's sugar. The cake was dense, moist and lemon-y, making it extra perfect for eating with a cup of black tea!
