Before all this cold and snowy weather arrived, Rich and I picnicked at Edward's Gardens. Technically there is no picnicking allowed, but we're rebels like that. Or more like it was Wednesday afternoon and the only people there were a handful of senior citizens, a couple of canoodling couples (possibly, most likely married to other people), a photographer and his clients and a random shirtless man, who was creepily watching people...namely the canoodling couples.

Our lunch al fresco consisted of: a medley of veggies (roasted red peppers and purple onions, crisp cucumbers, sun dried tomatoes and spring onions), chickpeas on a bed of cold buckwheat noodles. I made a lightly spiced sesame spiced peanut sauce to pour on top and it was the perfect little meal. It was a nice vegan meal, all by accident.

For a side, I had made a small batch of tomato bruschetta the night before. Due to my non-existing basil growing talents, there was none to be had. The dried stuff worked just fine and we scooped it up and into our mouths with Tostitoes chips! I like the low sodium kind as there's more than enough salt on those already.
I wish tomatoes were 9¢ a pound all year round!
