A couple weeks ago, I started the process of starting little seedlings. The weather is still indecisive, being 10C one day and then -10 the next, so I'm starting them inside. I have a variety of seeds that I've been hoarding, probably for too long and so I decided to use those. Whatever germinates and grows, I'll raise and if they're duds, oh well!
I made a list of seeds to plant and while snacking, gathered everything together. Pots, potting mix, water/spray bottle, etc. Apparently Tank likes craft paper.
She wanted to help, you know, lend a helping hand.
I mixed crushed up biodegradable Styrofoam with my soil to aerate it even more. The plants seem to like that.
These little salad bar containers are super handy. I store everything in them and they also happen to make fab and cheap plant pots!
Speaking of cheap plant pots, I picked up these super cute glass cups from my local (liquidating) Target for 60¢. I'm kicking myself for not picking up a bunch more, but we only have much space. Boo.
Has anyone tried lemon basil? I love both lemons and sweet basil.
Water and sunshine, grow, grow grow!
I planted a variety of tomatoes (haha, I don't even like them), herbs, cat grass, hot peppers and flowers. Mainly Zinnias and Marigolds, because I really want to grow flowers I can pick from my own garden and they're easy. Snipping flowers from other people's gardens requires too much work.
...juuuuust kidd'n.
