There were five of us and we sat in the Library Room, where we got to choose from a selection of tea leaves. They were served in pretty mix and match teacups and saucers, in which I happened to get the most hideous one.
The strawberry water was a nice touch though!

This time around I chose to get Earl Grey tea. The fragrant bergamot oils in the tea, couples with a generous splash of milk and a heaping spoon of sugar....such a treat!
By the way, I was watching an episode of Anna & Kristina and learned that you're supposed to pour the milk in the the cup first, followed by hot tea. Something about letting the tea warm the milk. I tried it, people probably thought it was weird and it didn't taste any different. My tea still could have been more hot. Read more about tea etiquette here!
The Finger sandwich selection included:
Organic Cucumber and Watercress with Pink Peppercorn Cream Cheese
Smoked Aurora Turkey Breast with Cranberry Emulsion
Lobster Mango Salad and Organic Baby Arugula
St. Mary’s Smoked Salmon with Cucumber, Pickled Red Onion and Avocado Aioli

They were all super fresh and delicious. Although I kind of missed the egg salad sandwich from last year, I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster salad which was served on a mini sugared pretzel bun. I could have eaten 5 more of them, they were soo good!
As the sandwiches arrived, as did our sugar filled tower of desserts and pastries. At this point, my camera was flashing low battery and I realized I had forgotten my backup at home..ughhhh.
The selection of pastries that were offered were:
Chocolate Truffle Flourless Cake
White Chocolate and Amaretto Cheese Cake Lollipop
Pastry Swans with Chantilly Cream
Royal York Opera Cake
French Macaroon and Pâte de Fruit
Everything was really good, except the macarons which had soggy shells due to the fruit jellies stacked between them. Their entire texture was funny. As we know, macaron and macaroons are entirely different pastries, so I'm not sure why they're being called the latter. Replace them with another Cheesecake Lolli, because those things were my favourite.
Along side all those pretty and sweet things, there were the Traditional Scones with Devonshire Cream served a selection of Preserves and Honey. Forget all the other pastries, just give me three plates of these babies. They were served warm, they were crisp outside, perfectly golden and super soft, super fluffy inside. Yummmm. Slathered with cream and a generous dollop of raspberry preserves...I die.
Overall, we had a fab time! Service and food were good and we even stayed for the rooftop tour, which I will post about next. Thanks Fern!
