Vegetarian Food Festival: Part 2
Sol Cuisine: We already knew their burgers are delicious, so we were looking forward to trying out some of their new meatless alternatives. |
Featured was their Greek Moussakka meatballs, made with a base of eggplants and veg proteins. They were really good- texture had a little chew, it was juicy and packed with flaovour. Win! |
Nelakee: They have a store front on Scarbrough, but with their odd hours, we usually just stock up annually at the Veg Food Fest. This time would we bought about $60 worth of Taiwanese faux meats. Maybe not the healthiest, but always welcomed when we're looking for a quick source of protein for dinner. |
Bobo's Oat Bars: Cute name, dry bars. Decent flavour profile, but they were lacking moisture/chew. |
Maple Walnut- our favourite flavour combo that unfortunately did not show through in this bar. |
If I hadn't already made a batch of corn soup at home, I totally would have bought a cup,-especially with the temperature dropping. Huge lines for this vendor, lots of people munching on $5 cobs of corn. |
Nuts For Cheese: Loved the packaging and the friendly people. Rich isn't a fan of most vegan cheese products, so I tried this one solo. All their cheeses were super creamy and rich. A little would go a long way. |
"Super Blue": Sharp, rich, and marbled with spirulina. Looks kind of like real blue cheese! Description is spot on. I really enjoyed this one. |
"Red Rind": Mild and creamy with a turmeric and paprika rind. Deliciously smoke and rich. Super pretty too! |
Simply Protein: These chips have 18g of protein per serving and they taste really good too. |
