Soy sauce - I used a mixture of regular soy, Maggie sauce and a couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce. |
Juice of half a lemon |
Squeeeeze! (I should buy a reamer) |
Add a couple of glugs of olive oil, minced garlic, white pepper, black pepper, basil and a pinch of cayenne pepper |
Steaks in |
I used my hands to get the steaks all coated. You can use tongs or even make the marinade in a zip top baggie and smoosh away! |
Medium high, sear until medium rare. |
Served with steamed corn and sautéed garlic rapini. |
The marinade is based off of one found on allrecipes.com, called
Best Steak Marinade in Existence. It has over 1070 ratings and an average of 4.5 stars! I didn't measure any of my ingredients (surprised?) so I just say add what your taste buds like. The marinade made for a very flavourful steak, that didn't need any additional sauces. This would be fabulous for meats (steak, chicken or pork!) to be sliced on and eaten with a large salad. Add some caramelized onions and mushrooms and goat cheese, flavour explosion!
