Chicken Fried Steak & Mashed Poatoes

Chicken fried steak, garlic mash and pan gravy with a side of zesty green beans. It looks pretty uniterested, but the flavours were there and I particulary enjoyed it with a side of raspberry jam. Kind of channeling Ikea's meatball and mash dinner, yum yum!

Update on Tank

These were taken a couple weeks back. We have since seen the vet for a follow up appointment, where Tank received a second injection of antibiotics. Fast forward to tonight, she's doing so much better than when these photos were taken! Sure the fur on her head is pretty much gone and half her back is hairless too, but it's growing back with a vengeance. I forgot how lovely the feeling of a hairless cat is. She looks a lot like she did back in June 2012 when her Pemphigus flared up crazily. There's more fur left on her head this time around.

I'll show you soon enough. :)

Sweet & Spicy Korean Pork Ribs

My favourite Korean pork dish is Dwaejigogi-bokkeum, which has delicious slices of pork pork belly stir fried in a sweet and red hot pepper paste sauce. If you've read about the times I've dine at Korean restaurants, then you'd know that this is my go to meal! The last time I made Dwaejigogi-bokkeum at home was when my friend Miriam's mum prepared a huge batch of it raw, for us cook fresh and enjoy.

After a bit of Googl-ing, I found Maangchi's website, where she prepared this dish with a recipe. It looked so good after watching her make it, that I was inspired to do the same. The only problem was that I didn't have any pork belly and I was secretly hoping for a...healthier alternative. I did, however have a couple slabs of pork back ribs. Clearly I had to...

...make some of the tastiest back ribs ever.

Roast Chicken and Avocado Rice

I love a roast chicken dinner. If I'm going to turn on the oven, I might as well roast two chickens, right? One for dinner tonight and the second one can be for another or better yet, made into chicken salad! Yum, yum, yum. Chicken salad with finely chopped red onions and celery. Sometimes I add cranberries or raisins, other times I'll sprinkle in some cumin or curry powder, but I always use Hellmann's Mayonnaise.

But this post isn't about that. I prepped two chickens, two different ways and shoved them in the oven.

When Life Gives You Limes...

...I juice them. If I can get 15 limes for a mere dollar, I will buy them. But usually I don't use them all up before they start to dehydrate and brown, so to preserve their freshness I get my little electric citrus juicer out and let it work it's magic. It only took me about 7 minutes to get every last bit of liquid out of the lime halves!

Tank likes to watch me make messes.
(Photos were taken before she got sick, thus she still has fur on her head.)
