I was recently sent a tube of CoverGirl's LashBlast Fusion mascara to test out, as a part of being a BzzAgent. I've been a LashBlast user for over two years now, but only used the Volume enhancing variety in the vibrant orange tube. When offered the chance to try another kind, I of course accepted.
I'm all about volumous, thick and long lashes. I like mascaras that are build-able without clumping too much and I like the formula to be as dark as possible. My lashes are naturally long and curled, but I lack volume. I usually do two coats swiping up, one swiping down and finish with another coat all around.
Here's a closeup of the wand fitted with CoverGirl's patent pending silicone brush. The bristles are super small and spiky. Maybe a little too spiky for me, as I like to tight line while applying mascara. It's extra pokey, possibly to help separate and de-clump lashes, but I prefer the brush that comes with the orange volumizing tube. It's gentler on my lash line!
I'll admit that while there were no faults about this mascara, I still prefer it's sister. If you're looking for a clump free, all around lash enhancing mascara at a low price point, this is it. It did it's de-clumping job a little too well for me personally, but I loved how dark the actual product was. It looked great with a dark smokey eye, making my lashes stand out. It lasted all day and didn't flake or melt under the eyes, all while keeping my lashes soft and plush.
The product in this post was complimentary and sent for review. All opinions are my own.
