Garlic-y Steak & Potatoes

Steak, roasted potatoes and a wedge salad
There's been some serious beef recalls lately and it's kind of scary. I wanted to make a meatball dish for Thanksgiving this coming Monday, but decided against it...'cause you know...e.coli poisoning kind of really sucks. And feeding it to over a dozen people would suck even more! It was just a precaution, since there seems to be an expanded list every couple of days. Grossssss!!

But then here I am cooking up strip-loin steak for dinner that I did not buy from the local interdependently run butcher. Actually, it's from Walmart. Guys, it's not that scary. Well, I'm not that scared, heh heh. I bought it a couple weeks ago and it hasn't showed up on the recall list. I've scoured every single link on that site! Lets hope it never shows up, as it's too late. I ate this slab of beefy goodness tonight and it was super tasty, dispite my cooking it a couple minutes longer than usual, resulting in a pretty darn well done steak. I did that on purpose. I normally like my steaks medium/medium rare. By cooking it well done, it made me feel a tad...better? I wasn't really that concerned to begin with...or was I. Subconsciously perhaps?

Now I'm just ranting!

The important thing is, the steak was still ridiculously tender, juicy and flavourful. Oh, and I am not sick. *knock on wood* ;)

Marinade ingredients! Olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, (low sodium) soy, lemon juice and black pepper

Doesn't it look good?

Douse liberally with Worcestershire sauce

Following with a good amount of soy.

Squeeze a quarter of a lemon on top

Sprinkle with black pepper. Whatever amount suits you.

Drizzle some olive oil on top and smush it all around!

Flip over and repeat. I just did everything on the try it came in. I didn't want to wash many dishes...can you tell?

My potatoes were starter to grow eyes...so they became the official starch/carb for dinner.
There's a mix of baby and regular. I picked out the little ones. Mm.

I made a glass of blueberry and banana smoothy white the tater's roasted away in a 400F oven.
I sweetened it with honey. So good! Plus, the blueberries give it a pretty colour. Extra good!
Did I mention that the potatoes had like, 8 cloves of minced garlic on them?
And that I added a dash of bacon ranch dressing to them before roasting? Oh and that I love garlic?
Since I love garlic (as does my family) I sprinkled a little bit of fried garlic on top. It sealed the deal.
P.S. I didn't make that dried garlic stuff. It gets purchased at the store- the Asian grocery store.

P.P.S. I have 7 more packs of strip-loin in the chest freezer. No, I didn't pay full price for them. Yes, I paid about $5 a pack. Yes, I price-matched and yes, I like saving money. :D
