Chickens, goats and lambs! No, it's not dinner time.

Pumpkin Day at Camp Green Acres, Part 1
Camp Green Acres held a family fun day last month where you got to explore the campgrounds and visit their animals. I had to go, 'cause farm animals are the best things ever and I love horses. Oh, and free pumpkins too!

Walking the Ravine, Part 1
Rich and I have been taking lots of walks. The ravine near his house is one of our favourites, because it's close to home, which means being closer to snacks and sweatpants once the walk is over.

Review: Laneige Water Bank Serum
With the temperature dropping and the heaters getting turned on, the skin on my face has started to become quite dry. So, when Influenster approached me to be part of their Laneige campaign, I of course jumped at the chance!

Thanksgiving 2015
Rich and I had our own little Thanksgiving this year and although it was turkeyless, we enjoyed a feast filled with deliciousness and lots of gravy!

Review: CoverGirl LashBlast
I was recently sent a tube of CoverGirl's LashBlast Fusion mascara to test out, as a part of being a BzzAgent. I've been a LashBlast user for over two years now, but only used the Volume enhancing variety in the vibrant orange tube. When offered the chance to try another kind, I of course accepted.

Buffet Lunch at India's Taste
Pani Puri, Vegetable Samosa, Butter Chicken, Goat Curry |
I rarely eat out. I find that it doesn't sit well with my body and I end up feeling really crappy afterwards. But then there are times where it's unavoidable or sometimes I'm just so tempted, I'm willing to reap the consequences. One of those days happened recently, as I'm a sucker for Indian food.

Happy as a Clam
Tank's PF has passed and she's recovering really well. What a relief! Her peach fuzz fur is growing back in and is cone free as of today!

31st Vegetarian Food Festival: Part II
Part I
Here's the second part of our day at the Vegetarian Food Festival, where we were fed more tasty treats and continued to explore new vendors.

31st Vegetarian Food Festival: Part I
This past weekend was the Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival. Rich and I look forward to going each year. We decided to check it out on the first day, which ended up fitting into our schedule perfectly as we had passes to a movie screening later on that evening in the downtown area. It also didn't down pour, which was a huge bonus.
I took a lot of pictures, so take a look!

Mint Leaf Butterfly
As I was bringing back the mint leaves that I picked from the garden into the house, I noticed a something clinging on to one of the leaves. I shrieked at first, 'cause ew, squishy caterpillars. But then I realized it wasn't moving and upon closer inspection it was actually a cocoon.

It's Morphing Time
It's almost autumn, which means it's time for Tank's PF (pemphigus folliculitis) to take over and for her immune system to attack her body. Twice this year! So shitty.

Roof Top Garden at The Royal York
During Summer months, tea time includes a chance to explore the hotel's famous rooftop herb garden 14 stories above ground.
Following our afternoon tea, we joined the 4pm group to tour the rooftop garden which was lead by one of their chefs.

Beach Days
Beach days with DJ and the kids. We did lots of lounging, lazing, snacking and beach things like running around, skipping rocks and scavenging for things. We even spotted a life guard and watched him take off his shirt (slow motion and everything) to save his runaway boat. Excite!

Onyx Star
I was digging around for matboard and found these gems stowed away in a box. High school photography; I'm pretty sure these weren't taken for an assignment, but I used school supplies anyway. Sorry Mrs. HL!

Cuisinart Belgian Waffle Maker (WAF-300)
I got a new waffle maker!
The other one that I had, the one Rich got me for my birthday a couple years back (Cuisinart WAF-100) still works, but due to a "metal utensil vs. non-stick coating" incident that somebody had, it was damaged and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately it has been discontinued and since the plates aren't removable, buying them separately from the machine was out of the question.
After doing some research and lots of browsing, I chose the WAF-300 model.

Garage Sale Pick Ups
For the past few years I've been wanting to go garage sale hunting and this past month finally did. Why I haven't done this sooner, is beyond me. One day I took a sunny stroll through my neighborhood and hit up 5 houses. It was a good day!

Back To Back: Dragon Legend
During the month of June, I had the privilege of dining at Dragon Legend twice. Eating out two days in a row is rare for me, but eating buffet style two days in a row just never happens. Luckily Dragon Legend, a Chinese/fusion restaurant (if you couldn't tell from it's name) has good food and lots of it!

Roaming The Bluffs, Part 2
Stumbling our way back to the top of the bluff wasn't as treacherous as I had thought it would be. Actually, it was kind of nice!

Roaming The Bluffs, Part 1
I've lived in the city of Toronto for over 27 years and this was my first time visiting The Scarborough Bluffs. Okay, so maybe I visited when I was wee small, but I can't recall any of it. Rich and I arrived in the afternoon, not knowing what to expect. But after driving around a little, impressed by the beautiful houses and finally settling on a place to park, we were presently surprised!
Scarborough all of a sudden turned into something completely different.

Review: Viva Vantage by Kleenex
I received an unmarked box in the mail the other day and when I opened it, it contained a package of Kleenex's Viva Vantage paper towels. At first I was confused, as I had no idea who it was from (it was sent from a distribution center) and it didn't contain a note or letter as to why I was sent it.

Vegan Peanut Butter & Chocolate Layer Cake
Rich wanted chocolate and peanut butter, so that's what he got. Four layers of cake, salted peanut butter frosting and a heavy swirl of dark chocolate ganache. This was one seriously decadent cake!

Stir Fried Rice Noodles (Fridge Odds and Ends)
Lazy girl dinner! Rich and I are suckers for noodles- especially rice noodles. We stopped by an Asian grocery store the other day and picked up a package of dried vermicelli without thinking what we'd end up doing with it.

Father's Day and the Best Vegan Chocolate Cake Ever
Rich and I celebrated Father's Day super casually this year (like all years) with homemade cards and mostly made from scratch vegan cake!

About
Hi, I'm Janetta from Toronto. I cook, bake and often veganize recipes. I photograph nearly everything and those photos will most likely end up being posted here. I've got a little black cat named Tank, who's really cute and a little bit nosy. You'll see a lot of photos of her too!
